Can someone please tell me what Anthony Bourdain’s problem is? I swear every time he opens his mouth he sounds like sour grapes. Why is he constantly picking on Paula Dean? I think he’s jealous of her success. He is not the nutrition expert of the nation, nor is he an expert on Southern cooking so why is he knocking Paula’s cooking. Ok so her stuff is high fat and uses a lot of sugar, that’s why you don’t cook it everyday. I think most people are smart enough to know that. We don’t need saint Bourdain the magnificent kicking around Paula trying to protect us from her Southern cooking. Get a life Anthony and stop bitching about every other cook’s success. I don't see how anyone can get their life straight when they're a young person and responsible for bringing in all the money for the family.

Oh yeah, you head me right. I think Lindsay is maintaining the lifestyle for her whole family. It's clear enough Dina and her father aren't. Everyone should read the website for A Minor Consideration. It talks all about what happens to child stars and how the roles end up reversed, the child is the breadwinner for the family.

Can't get a job if you don't have a job? Try this

I was listening to the radio a few days ago and heard that employers are discriminating against unemployed workers. They are saying 'if you don't already have a job, don't bother applying'. If you find yourself in this situation, or even if you don't and are struggling to find a job I have a possible solution for you: Volunteer.

How is that going to help me? You ask. Well, I'll tell ya.

Employers want a winner, they want someone who gets along with others and is a hard worker. If you volunteer your time, say three hours a day, at a nonprofit you met several of those needs.

1. If you work hard for those three hours and always show up on time you will have a recent work reference. In fact, you'll look like an ambitious go getter that would rather work for FREE rather than sit around and watch Oprah when you're not job hunting. Don't think you can use it on your resume? WRONG! Anything that shows a constructive use of your time and ability is great for your resume.

2. You might get job leads through the nonprofit or even get hired on there when they see what a great worker you are.

3. It gets you out of the house and gives you a sense of purpose. You're also helping the community.

I know it's easy to get negative when your out of work but sometimes just keeping busy can really help. Create a schedule for yourself. For example in the morning do your job search, afternoon volunteer.

Need experience in a field you're trying to get into? Volunteering can be your ticket.

My last bit of advice is this: BE NICE to EVERYONE. You don't know who knows who, especially in certain industries. If your a positive, hard working person word will get around. For example, Martha works at the American Cancer Society. She goes home and tells her husband who works for a fortune 500 company, "We have the best volunteer worker at the Society who's been unemployed for some time. Don't you have an opening?"

And that's when working for nothing can really pay off :)

I'm so glad the authorities are taking bullying seriously these days. I was bullied as a kid and I can tell you it's no fun and not at all cool. I don't understand why people feel the need to be cruel to others, it makes no sense. Bullies never end up being successful, they only end up in jail.

Well some clown called in on the subject of Assange's arrest for raping TWO women and said...for reasons I can't possibly understand...that he beleived the Swiss were pursuing rape charges against the Wikileaks founder because a condom broke and that's a crime in Sweden. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???
What the hell is wrong with people and their aggressive defense of willful ignorance? Was this man THERE when the sex act was going on between Assange and these women? NO...So how can you say he's being prosecuted for a broken condom? WTF? That's probably one of the most stupid things I've ever heard.
Now I don't know if these women's charges are accurate or not. I'm going to wait for the facts to come out. But I think Assange is a coward for not facing the charges like a man and running off to hide instead. He seems to have a lot of secrecy for someone who claims to be so innocent. Those are usually the most wicked and perverse people of all.

I haven't been blogging in a while because real life has been driving me crazy. Between house hunting, which has now been called off, and trying to help my niece in school, everything seems to be conspiring to upset me. Thankfully things are getting back to normal. I don't think I can deal with my two Jack Russell terriers bitching at each other anymore. What on earth is the deal with terriers anyway?

But anyway, at least I've been making some decent progress on Siren Warrior 10 which has yet to be named. This one has a strong S&M vibe which is proving to be very cool. As for other projects I'm working on an interracial werewolf story that I think is going to be really cool. In addition the new year will bring the release of the first of the Werewolf Mafia books and another hot android story. Hope you all stay tuned for lots of erotic romance adventure plus I'm planning to write a nonerotic fantasy series for Whisky Creek.

Am I the only person who hates it when a company puts in a gotcha clause? I wanted to buy a subscription to the New York Times for Sunday delivery when I read the footnote that said the discount rate is good for one year THEN they continue to charge your credit card the normal rate. I don't mind the normal rate part but I intensely dislike them trying to continue to charge my account as they please.

I've had bad luck with something like this. Businesses charge and charge, and sometimes you never get the product and forget trying to get a hold of a person because they've fired all the customer service people and shipped their jobs to India (no offense to my Indian-American friends). If I want to keep the service going, I want to be able to do it myself, I don't want the company ASSUMING I do and keep charging me up the wazoo. That's just plain wrong.

I have been reading some great books lately. The first one was A Reliable Wife available from Amazon. This book is beautiful and haunting, easily one of the best books I've ever read. For those of you whole love tales of redemption and love, this is for you. I don't want to say too much so I won't spoil it for you.

The next book is Matterhorn, a tragic tale of a Marine in the jungles of Vietnam. His struggles for survival and sanity amidst all the killing and chaos is truely heartwrenching and definately worth the 566 pages. A real winner that will reach into your heart and tear it to pieces.

I’m not a huge fan of Adrien Brody. I’ve seen him in a few films and the characters he’s portrayed have never clicked with me. Most of the time they’re weird and wimpy. But never say never.
I just went to see Predators today and was really impressed with his performance. He was so out of character from the normal characters he plays I didn’t even think it was him. He’s still not the most attractive man but he was sexy in this flick. And you know what? The movie was really good too.

Man oh man...I just got finished listening to Mel Gibson's rant on Radar Online and I am speechless. I always suspected there was something not right about that guy because every time he spoke to the press or in interviews he always seemed edgy and tense with those CRAZY eyes but now he's removed all doubt. Even if, like he raves, this woman is a gold digger, she doesn't deserve to be screamed at like a rabid monkey. No one deserves that. A commentator on Entertainment Tonight said that he fits the profile of a classic batterer and I can't agree more. How his wife ever stayed married to that filth so long is a miracle.

OMG what must his kids think of him, ugh...

I was so appalled by the horrible things he said I didn't even want to provide a link for fear I might give someone nightmares. I'm glad this woman taped him talking to her like that and I hope she gets the settlement of a lifetime. F**k her Mel? No I think a better phrase would be f**k you and I hope she breaks your f**king bank!

Some of you may think I’m odd…and you’d be right…but it’s nice to know I’m not alone. The Love Machine (Whiskey Creek Torrid) was one of my first erotic romances but I had so wanted to write because it was different. I read a few other author’s takes on the subject but they always made the android so robot like not to mention how weird the hero’s sounded when they spoke… and before I write mine, everyone had to have SOME human parts in their android’s. But I have news for those people…if you add human parts the man is technically a cyborg not an android…but anyway.

Sometimes I Suck at Blogging

If any of you were wondering where the heck I’ve been, let’s just say sometimes I don’t want to face the world. Like most people in the US I have been watching La Lohan’s drama unfold in a Beverly Hills court room and am glad the judge held her accountable. I really don’t wish the girl any ill will I just hate to see her flirting with death every day. She’s too young and stupid to know that she’s going to end up dead if she doesn’t change her ways…hopefully rehab will make her see the light.

On a separate note but equally as important to me is my feet have been killing me lately. I’m among those unlucky people born with flat feet and since I’m been aging they’ve gotten worse. What’s a girl to do? Buy special shoes. Ugh Of course said shoes are NOT cheap. But I guess I have to bite the bullet and purchase them sigh.

I'm as into stopping animal cruelty as the next person but I resent the Humane Society of America constantly advertising vicious cruelties and bear baiting on the MSNBC website. That ad is on constantly and smacks more of manipulation than anything else. I'm not blind to the fact that while they use those horrible images to get donations, those ads aren't cheap either. Why not have a before and after photo showing all the good that they are doing with that money instead of just showing the abuse.

I can't stomach vicious cruelty especially against animals and children. Both are so vulnerable to neglect and abuse and it seems like the law never does enough to protect either. I applaud what the Humane Society does but I'd really be more inclined to give them money if I heard success stories instead of a reaffirmation of all abuse. Give me a happy ending, not just gory pictures.

The ads have bothered me so much I don't really read MSNBC anymore. Too depressing along with all the other abuses in the world.

Some of you may be wondering what on earth happened…I have not blogged in almost a week. Well, I’ll tell you. I had to rescue a feral cat from the jaws of my bad terriers and got bitten (by the cat that is). I managed to save his ungrateful self but he had to go to Animal Services to make sure he didn’t have rabies. My arms were covered in scratches but I was okay.

Last week and this week were nuts. I sweat I must have spent the majority of my life in my car running from one place to another. Having kids will do that to you. I haven't been blogging lately because we adopted a new pet and my carefully ordered life is in temporary chaos...but I think my chi is returning. The main thing is that my niece is so happy and playing with her new pet all the time. I really like him too, he's very sweet and gets along great with Flynn.
If you've been thinking of adopting a new dog you should really consider an older pet (our new addition is 8 years old). They're usually housetrained and mellow.

Love is never easy

I have never believed that love was easy.

It’s a painful but wonderful road we all take at different times in our lives and if we’re lucky, it changes us forever. But, as I said, it’s never easy. Sometimes when I read a romance where the couples don’t struggle for common ground, I feel a little cheated. I like a little suffering with my romance and that’s why I like writing my stories that way.

Life too is rarely easy. I know in my life, I’ve always had to struggle for what I wanted. So with that in mind, I and my co-author Lindsey Bayer wrote the Siren Warrior Series. This series follows the struggle of Gypsy Theron, the only daughter of an alien general and her efforts to become the one thing everyone says she can never be: a warrior. From her humble beginnings on her own to her glorious successes, to her many loves, she is anything but an ordinary heroine.

I was reading the Orlando Sentinel and I couldn't believe this story. I don't care what your politics are, you don't have the right to try and influence anyone's vote or judge them on their political views. We don't live in Communist Russia, Doctor Stalin.

I may not agree with a lot of political views but I try to respect everyone's, except for Ann Colter...who I hate beyond reason for her nasty BS comments. I'm sure she doesn't mind, she likes to stir up hate so I'm really just playing right into her strategy.

Anyone who was a patient of this guy is really better off with someone else.

This kind of stuff really infuriates me. It really shows how totally ignorant Jesse James is. Don't get me wrong, I've known people who collect WW2 stuff but there's a far cry from collecting this stuff and marching around doing a Nazi salute. The Nazis were not cool. And the funniest part about it is that the same people who think the Nazis were cool are the same ones who would have been strung up, shot or gassed by them. Such morons... it makes me laugh.

Very sad day today. My 15 year old cat who I bottle fed died of old age. He had a good kitty life but it's always sad to see them go. His brother Hobbs died just before Thanksgiving last year and that was really upsetting too. sniff, sniff.

The Child Star Curse

I think I've blogged about this before but having lived in LA I can tell you I completely understand what Corey Feldmen is saying here. Getting famous at a young age is nothing less than a curse. The reason? Because it gives you a skewed self image that you never recover from. Once you're not a cute kid anymore, no one has any use for you. I can't remember who said it but one child star (I think it was Feldmen) said "It's not like you can just go out and get a job at McDonalds when you grow up. People think you have all this money."

Sadder still is that almost all child stars blow through their money by the time they hit their thirties and most much sooner. The only thing that saves them is having strong parents that look out for their interests like I believe Brook Sheilds mom did. Other than that, its usually a disaster.

My heart goes out to Corey Haim's family. RIP buddy.

Blond Fatigue

I have nothing against blonds but I am kind of getting tired of seeing MOSTLY blonds on TV. From the news to reality shows, to scripted TV I see more blonds than any other kind f woman. I'd really like to see more variety... where are all the redheads? What about older women or heavier women, or women with strange exotic beauty? Can we maybe get more African American women please?

There are tons of Asian and Indian women who are stunning, why not more of them? Why oh why must it always be blonds. Is it because men are still doing the hiring?
My blond fatigue has become so extreme I have begun groaning inwardly when I see yet another blond. They are starting to ll blend in with each other and I can't distingush them apart. Paris Hilton, yawn. Scarlet Johansen, almost all of the Real Housewives of Orange County, female news anchors, on and on and on. Don't believe me? Check it out for yourself.

Now, like I said, don't get me wrong I think people with naturally blond hair are great but they have variations to their color...they are not all platnum. Enough with the blonds already!

Horrible Experiences at Car Dealerships

As I am a hopeless car buyer (always switching it up every few years) I decided that I liked the Toyota Scion XB so much I wanted a newer one. Now comes the part where I have sworn off this vice for as long as humanly possible...I spent four and a half hours at the car dealership only to have them try to screw me out of the payment we originally agreed to at the end.

All I have to say is it serves me right. I should just stick with one car until it falls apart around me. I think I've learned my lesson. No more new cars for the foreseeable future. I love the XB, it's a fun and awesome vehicle but not worth the aggravation.

Having a great editor is awesome because they often see thing you as an author have missed. Unfortunately they are so hard to find. But lucky for me I've been blessed with some great people in my life and career.

Full Sail University Orlando

After reading both the good and the bad on the web, I finally visited Full Sail University for myself. This is my take on the university, it is an accredited school and offers a great opportunity for anyone serious about getting into the entertainment field. It is also for profit and VERY expensive. How expensive? From what I can gather anywhere from $30,000 to $70,000 for the full program...so the moral of this story is, if you go be sure you finish or you'll have a big, fat student loan and nothing to show for it.

Will it help you get a job in the entertainment field? It certainly can help BUT you have to be willing to work hard to be the best. That's how some of the really good students get some hands on experience. When you graduate you're going to have to REALLY bust your hump to find a job but (and take it from me with a Political Science degree) you'll have to do that no matter what kind of degree you graduate with from any school in the nation. And because you are trying to get into the entertainment field, you're going to have to work that much harder. I read about one graduate who took advantage of every opportunity and did manage to get a great job at a TV studio after almost a year of searching.

Want to get a job in entertainment? My best advice is get as much experience as you can. Get a job at Disney or Universal, intern at companies that can get you the experience you need.

How can a degree help you? Well if its there are two applicants for one job and one candidate went to Full Sail and took advantage of every opportunity while another one has nothing who do you think will get the job?

Sooner or later, your application is the best in the bunch. Just hang in there and don't give up.

Some people just don't get it

He claims he made amends for what he did but he doesn't really care. All he wants is to have everyone forget what a colossal tool his is and keep getting those big paydays.

How to Find a Job in Difficult Times

Few things are as devastating as a job loss. Whether it’s the result of a layoff or by choice the sudden life change can be daunting. Fortunately there are five things you can do to find that new job quicker.

Begin your job search the next day. There are two good reasons why you should do this. First you don’t want a huge gap between when you last worked and when you started looking for work. Second, it can take anywhere from six to nine months to find a job. The sooner you get started, the sooner you’ll find work.

Try temping. Temporary employment companies are an excellent but often times overlooked resource to job seekers. Not only do these companies let you try out a prospective employer to see if you like them, but they can also serve as a current reference to a prospective employer. The downside is the pay is frequently low but it can and often does turn into a permanent job for a hard working employee. The big tip here is after you register, call them every day. Twice a day if you can until you find work.

Bookmark companies on the internet and check the openings frequently. When you find a new opening you think you might like, apply immediately. Another rule of thumb here is to apply even if you have the education but not the experience. Sometimes employers are looking for someone they can train from scratch.

Buy the newspaper. Even if the job listings are skimpy you can still get leads on which companies are hiring and add them to your computer bookmarks.

Don’t make the mistake of taking a ‘paid’ vacation. If you’re getting unemployment checks don’t fall into the trap of taking your time to look. That money won’t last you as long as you think and while you’re lounging around watching Oprah reruns, someone else is getting hired at your dream job.

CNN is reporting that Dan Brown's new book was placed on a bit torrent (a community place to download illegal stuff-don't try it there are lots of viruses on with those downloads) and downloaded illegally about 10,000 times. WTF? Does no one feel bad about stealing anymore? Authors work hard to create works that people will enjoy reading. Unless they're a big name they don't make huge buckets of money. But even if they do, it's not cool to steal from them. Please don't do it.

Just FYI bit torrent sites are notorious for nasty viruses that can steal your identity and monitor your computer. Come on, did you think those people were giving you that ebook for FREE? No they want to scan your hard drive so think twice.

Big Company Execs Crying Over Pay Cut

Boo Hoo, looks like insurance giant AIG lost one of its top execs because she quite over the governments pay cut. Well if you were such hot crap why haven't you managed to get your company out of the crapper? I have no sympathy. That kind of baby stuff just makes an exec look sooo unprofessional and childish. What? You're not making six million and now your only making two? Please.

Trust me, this chic was no prize. A real business professional stays, finishes the job and then leaves to shop their expertise around. All this person has done is make themselves look like a spoiled overcompensated child.

Good luck finding another big job to pay you a mint lady, because they're aren't a whole lot of those around. Or maybe your just planning to sit on your mega million retirement package and retire...ugh what is this country coming to?

If I haven't already said it MERRY CHRISTMAS and Happy New Year! As I write these words I am currently on a junk food bender of Biblical proportions. Every word I write is rewarded by a chip generously dunked in onion dip. Now seeing as that I barely have control over my impulses normally, I don't even try on Christmas and New Years. I mean what's the point? You're only going to make an unrealistic new years resolution and break it in Feb anyway right? So why deprive yourself now?

I would like to thank all of you who bought my books over the years and give you a special Christmas Kiss "SMOOCH". I hope you've enjoyed all my stories but if any have disappointed I apologize and will try to work harder in the future. Writing is an acquired skill, you learn new things the more you write. There are lots of great romance stories planned for 2010 so I hope you'll stop by one of my publishers and check them out!

What is sexy in a man?

What makes a man sexy? Sometimes its when a strong man shows his vulnerability. For example I love the show Dog the Bounty Hunter because despite the fact that Dog is a big, sexy man, he also cares about people especially his family. A man who loves his family and tries to protect and care for them is SO hot.

In the episode I'm thinking of, Dog talks about the sad death of a premature child. Having had a niece in and out of the hospital when she was a baby I can relate and know how heart wrenching it can be. Revealing that difficult story showed how deeply he cared for that child...I really felt for him.

If only more men would take a page from the real men of the world and give more of a crap about their kids. I think this world would be a much better place

Just finished some edits on a great sci fi adventure

They liked the story but had some suggestions before they would take it. The bigger publishers are very exacting and I don't blame them...its just that I HATE editing...it drives me nuts.

female teachers who have their way with male students

I was watching a show today about this stuff and of course they brought up MK Letourneau. This woman so enrages me I can hardly have a normal conversation about her. I feel so sorry for that poor boy (man now but still). Now here is an adult woman (I use that term loosely) who used a young boy's sexual drive against him and not only trapped him by getting pregnant ONCE but TWICE!

I predict as he gets older he's going to begin to realize that this woman manipulated and used him to satisfy herself emotionally. Oh sure she says she loves him but she has never once made any sacrifices for his benefit. Everything has been to serve her own selfish motives. According to PEOPLE magazine they are living off the money they got for coverage of their wedding...but someday that money is going to run out. And when it does they are going to have real problems because, unless he goes back to school to study a trade or something, his earning potential is seriously limited. And her? She's not getting any younger, and she can't be a teacher anymore...so what does that leave? I'm afraid to ask.

You think when this young man turns 40 he's going to want to be saddled with a 61 year old? I seriously doubt it.

Credit Card BS

The credit cards that I've held for years have turned against me even though I haven't done anything wrong. To get back at them for trying to jack up my interest rate to the sky I have canceled all of them and I am not alone. I know a lot of people doing the same thing. I should have done this years ago.
They'll get theirs when people start saving again instead of living off credit and then where will they be? Unemployed and I can't wait.

Writing Funk

Sometimes, like most writers, I get into a funk and don't want to write anything. Sometimes it's due to a bad review or personal stuff going on in my life. But I think it's finally lifted. I started a pretty cool vampire story this morning that I think is going to have a lot of S&M in it...hee hee I also have three great stories that have been swallowing up my time as I do revision (which I hate with a passion). If Samhain likes the changes I made on one, I just might get accepted by them! Horray for me!!!

Jon Gosslin is such a tool

I'll bet anyone that TLC is going to cut their losses and determine this show is too much of a pain in the butt to keep messing with. They are so done. Just like that.

Working on book #6 of the Siren Warrior

Well never say never. I thought I wasn't going to write any more of the Siren Warrior series but then Lindsey and I got to talking and came up with some great new story lines! I'm really excited about book #6. There's love, betrayal, trechery and lots of great sex and battles. I'm planning to write books six, seven and eight. Names to be determined.

I'm working on a lot more erotic stories after having taken a brief break. I'm also applying to the MFA program at University of Central Florida. I think that will help me be a better writer.

Well I thought I'd heard everything but apparently not. Since when is trying to passhealth care reform socialist? Do these people really think this president is a NAZI? How f**king stupid do you have to be?

Don't these people get it? If you get sick now, and you have no health insurance you have big problems. If you get cancer or some other nasty disease, you're dead. Got that? Dead. Tons of both kids and adults have DIED because they didn't have health insurance and didn't qualify for medicare.

Think that can't happen to you? Better think again because plenty more people have found out the hard way that the great insurance they THOUGHT they had didn't cover enough with their new illness. And then guess what? By the time you try to get better coverage, you're dead again or so far along with your disease that the treatments don't matter. I can imagine why anyone would want to wish that on anyone let alone risk it themselves.

Why must Hollywood always make a movie about a bestselling book? I'm happy for the authors who get a big boost in their payday but the problem is that many stories can't translate to the screen. Why not? Because the book was never ONLY about the story, it was about the beauty of the language. I know that was certainly true of Memoir of a Geisha.

That book was beautifully written but its delicate beauty and adventure just didn't translate well to screen. Well the same thing has happened to the Time Travelers Wife.

The Jon and Kate Reality show

As I never really watched the show, its still sad to see their marriage break up. I'm sorry for those kids and the annoying way their parents are behaving on TV. I'm not at all surprised that their rating are going into the toilet...from a high of 10 million viewers to 3 million. Why? Because no one wants to see eight kids eaten up by a nasty divorce. I mean, I know Jon is a lemon (and Kate's no prize either) but she should have known that when she married him. As for their show, it going away, I'm sure of it.

Sci Fi Series

Like many of you, science fiction has always held a special place in my heart. I love the thought of what might be out there in the great starry beyond, and I love writing about the possibilities even more.

My AEssyrian World Series from Double Dragon e-books and my Siren Warrior series both take place on the alien world of AEssyria which is as dangerous, exciting and unpredictable place as you’d ever want to visit. Sex and the Paranormal Reader

The first erotic paranormal I ever read was a book call Dracula in Love by John Shirley. Although classified more as horror than paranormal romance at the time, it told the tale of Dracula’s first love and packed quite a punch in 1979 (its release date). Of the many graphic scenes in the book, one erotic scene in particular stood out in my mind as almost over the top.
The scene was the first sexual encounter between Dracula and the heroine. I couldn’t tell you much of what the rest of the book was about, but that scene made a strong impression because it was both graphically erotic and different from anything I’d ever read before. In the scene, Dracula reveals his penis to the heroine in his attempt to seduce her. His penis is described as tremendously thick, long and moving like a snake. She was transfixed and, needless to say gave in to her curiosity. I won’t go into any more except to say that the author intended the scene to be outrageous and it certainly was! Wow, I thought as I read the book in one sitting, I can’t believe the author got away with this sex scene!

Looking back, I may not remember much of the book, but I loved that scene.

Pulling from my own early interest in the occult, I threw in everything spooky I could think of. Cargo Shorts and middle age women

As I stumble toward middle age I have decided that most clothing designed for women is designed with the young woman in mind. As a forty something woman I do not want to wear bell bottom jeans-done that, been there, didn't like it the first time, thanks. Another disturbing trend is the skinny jean. I do not want to be stuffed into a pair of jeans with the lower half of my circulation cut off...so why then don't they (the manufacturers) make comfortable clothing for middle aged women?

Why do men have comfortable, loose fitting clothing and we have tight fitting crap?

I think its because women have settled...we've become conditioned to allow the fashion industry to tell us what we should wear and how skinny we should be and I for one am sick of it.

How do I intend to rebel? I'm going to buy men's cargo shorts and enjoy how comfortable they are. I'm even going to pretend that someone, anyone cares about my rebellion and that my statement matters ;)

Writing in general

Being a writer is like a lot of other professions in that you get better with practice. I’ve been writing for just about three years now and I can tell you from experience that it gets easier the more stuff you write. But the real trick is not just getting to the point where you’re good, most writers want to be great. So I am planning to work even harder this year to improve. I want to write not only better but longer, which is a big challenge for me.
What do I have planned for this year my darlings? Well, I have some notes and story ideas on a cool vampire erotic adventure that’ll be so hot you’ll have to have the AC on HIGH just to read it! Why haven’t I written one yet? Because it’s hard not to write a good vamp story that hasn’t been told a million times. A writer always has to think of ways of making it fresh and exciting and I take that commitment seriously. After all my dear readers, I truly do have your reading pleasure in mind ;)

But don't get me wrong, the people borrowing the money were at fault too, borrowing money like the end of the world was coming.

I know in my home state of Florida, Builders couldn't build subdivisions fast enough. People couldn't borrow off their homes fast enough. Every weekend Home Depot and Lowes were packed to the walls with people making expensive and unnecessary changes to their brand new subdivision homes. It was a party and all of us, myself included, were drunk on the punch. So this is what you get when no one is watching the farm. Chaos and over consumption. But I do place most of the blame on Wall Street because they are the architects of all this destruction. Those big payday boys and girls were wild with greed and they took all of us down the pipes with them.

I can't remember where I saw it, but there was an interview with an economist on TV a few years before the bottom fell out of the housing market. He hit the nail on the head by saying that for the past decade, corporate American has been using the American consumer as a cash cow and someday the bill was going to come due. Well ladies and gents, the bill has come due and we're all in the kitchen doing dishes. Most of us are anyway.

Soul Searching

This whole blowup with MMP has me doing some real soul searching. I plan to take a short break from writing romance and do a sci fi thriller. Nothing like getting back to basics to clean out the old pipes. In a way I'm glad this happened because its forcing me to rethink what I really want. Oh...and it gives me time to lick my wounds.

Brought her website down

I filed a complaint with the MMP webhost and they were kind enough to bring her website down but I don't know for how long. I've sent out an email to everyone of her authors screwed by her and hopefully they too will complain. That ought to cool her heals until I file a criminal complaint with her state's attorney general. Oh yeah, things are heating up.

And to think, all she had to do was take our ebooks off her website and I would have just moved on with my life...but nooo. Some people have to do things the hard way. Well that snake's in real school now because I intend to pursue every means at my disposal to bring her to justice.

The Mystic Moon fiasco continues.

As I have Jennifer Mitchell's (CEO of MMP) home address and telephone number I thought I'd give her a call so we could chat. The woman who answered the phone claimed (my BS meter was off the charts) not to be her so she took a "message" for me. So I told her that if Jen didn't get my stuff off her website by morning, I was going to press criminal charges.

In reality that was the least I have planned for her. Normally a nice person, I can get very unpleasant when cheated. So in cases like this, where someone is trying to as* f**k me, I do everything in my power to make their life unpleasant.

Oh sure, Jen told someone she was planning to declare bankruptcy but she's missing the bigger picture here. What she has done has two names. Fraud and embezzlment. Those are real world crimes people go to jail for, so I sure hope Jen kept some of that Fictionwise money in her piggy bank because she's gonna be needing it to make bail.

I can hardly wait for Monday :)

Just as I thought this Mystic Moon thing might straighten itself out, more bad news. Jennifer Mitchell, the so-called CEO, is not answering her e-mail or her home phone. The business phone has been disconnected. Now I'm really upset. Just to think all she would have to do is tell us the business didn't work out and close down the site. Sigh. So now I have to contact the FBI on internet fraud, her bank and the host of her website, hostmonster.com and inform everyone she is a fraud. This is the last time I'm going to trust a small epub...no more niceness. I'm done, most of them are run by clowns who can't get their act together.

Well, the rumor mill is up and churning. Is Mystic Moon Press one of the many epubs to fail? First we're told that there was some kind of identity theft and that's why we weren't getting paid for our stories, now a key member of the staff and up and quite.

I tried emailing the CEO Jen but so far, silence. Silence makes me very nervous. I have quite a few books with them and am probably going to get the shaft. That's what I get for being nice and trying to help out a new company...but then, it's not like I was up for a Pulitzer but it still makes me sad to think that someone would take the money and run. I'm not saying that's what's happened, but that's what's going around...and then there's the silence from the CEO.

Nothing to do but wait and see.

Taking Risks

As a writer, I try to read a lot. Not only do I set up camp at my local bookstore and write like a fiend for hours but, as a special treat, I like to troll around after I’m done and scan the shelves for anything new and fun to read. Sometimes I find a winner, like Angela Knight’s Warrior, or Michael Connelly’s Echo Park. But in the romance section I was disappointed to find that most of the offerings were contemporary or vampire/werewolf paranormal. Maybe it’s just my local B&N…Now before some of you get offended and start e-mailing me that vamps rule, let me assure you that I too love a good vamp/werewolf romp but I keep hoping for something…else. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t blame the authors. I’m sure there are plenty of them out there trying new and different heroes but perhaps the publishing industry just isn’t ready for them.
*sigh*
So until then I guess I’ll just have to keep looking…

Well at least we have e-books, right? In my humble opinion, I think the best erotic romance is on the web. We e-book authors certainly have the most freedom when it comes to diversity. Check out Stephanie Burke’s Liger, and Barbara Karmazin’s The Huntress, for a great taste of something new and different.

The clang of steel was music to her ears. They’d been sparring behind the villa for almost two hours and she could tell Caraculla was completely distracted. He blocked her with a slide slice and launched a few angry chops designed to drive her back. She tripped over a root and fell on her butt, wincing as he came down over her. He stared into her eyes, panting. Some sweat from his face dripped onto her cheek. Gypsy’s cheeks flushed with heat. “That,” he said, placing his saber to her neck, “is a kill.”
Laying her saber down, she leaned into him and touched her lips to his. The kiss was hot and short, but potent. She scooted back to get up, but he wasn’t going to accept a brief kiss from her. Caraculla put down his weapon and pulled her against him, claiming her mouth with his own. Suddenly, Gypsy was engulfed in a heated passion she never knew was in him. He pushed her down on the ground, his mouth spreading fire everywhere it went. A moment later, all thoughts of practice evaporated from her mind.
